Lavrio, the Port and the City |

| A publication that explores and documents the history of the port of Lavrio and its organic relationship with the city of Lavrio, the industrial past and the mining heritage of Lavreotiki. It is a 184-page large-format book that was published by the Lavrion Port Authority. We undertook the study, design and production of the project from the initial stages of the definition and selection of the photographical and textual material, to the typographical editing, editorial editing and the production of the album.
The content of the publication and the flow of the material were designed after a systematic study of the historical, cultural, social and economic parameters that shaped the relationship between the city and its port over time. This relationship was captured through photography and aerial photography of all the landmarks, spaces, buildings, natural resources and functions of both the port and the city. This photographic material forms the core of the publication and vividly depicts the interaction of the port with the city and the everyday life of Lavrio. The photo shoot was carried out by our partner photographer Yiannis Aliferopoulos with my guidance and personal care in the field throughout the project. Special thanks to the members of the Lavrion Polyphonic Choir who willingly took on the role of our local guide and contributed in various ways to the success of the photographic work. |
