I am Evangelos Kassavetis, designer, consultant and researcher of visual communication. My studies began at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Patras in 1985. During my student years, I was first introduced empirically to graphic arts and typography, and then I worked on graphic design and advertising. In 2004 my quests continued at the European Culture department of the Hellenic Open University, from where I graduated first with an excellence scholarship and postgraduate course in History and Philosophy of Science.
Today I am in head of the Kassavetis Design studio that I founded in Tripoli, Arkadia in 1991. Our clientele comes from all over Greece and abroad. I do love to make posters and logos, to work on wine as well as on curating special publications, to design cultural and historical projects. My works have been presented in exhibitions and publications on design, while they have repeatedly been awarded in Greek and international design competitions.
Beyond active design and creative work, I write and lecture about historical and cultural issues of typography and visual communication. In recent years I have been systematically engaged in research and study of special topics in the history of visual civilization.
