| Logo and illustrations for Takimi, a restaurant that opened during the Covid-19 pandemic quarantine. The title is read through the use of the empty space, visualizing the concept of the absolute matching that the word takimi means in greek.
Takimi is a deli tavern that was preparing to operate in 2020 before the pandemic, but things turned out this way and it opened during the quarantine, embracing social distancing from the very first opening. His name Takimi –pre-decided– is a provocative irony. It is a greek word that means tight fit, a concept that signifies full contact. When I started to design, I used the empty space and the positive-negative relationship to achieve the perfect fit between letters. I took advantage of typography to visualize the concept of “takimi”. When the logo was completed, I realized that what I had unintentionally accomplished was to picturize the distances of the coronavirus. And somewhere there a little heart appeared. I also illustrated a tasty “takimi”. A rooster that turns into a fish. |
